ALBUQUERQUE – After nearly a year of construction, Main Bank opened its new headquarters in the Uptown corridor on April 15 to serve its growing customer base of business owners.
The locally owned bank’s new space at 7300 Menaul NE, east of Louisiana, will continue to have a strong focus on commercial lending to fund new businesses and help existing ones grow, said Ron Shettlesworth, president and CEO. The two-story, 17,000-square-foot building represents a $6 million investment, he added.
About 6,000 square feet on the second floor is available for one or two tenants, which the bank hopes to sign soon, according to broker Dan Kearney of the Allen Sigmon Real Estate Group.
Serious negotiations are underway with a local jeweler who is interested in a portion of the second-floor space, said Kearney. “Security is very important to him,” he said of the business owner. Also looking are several insurance and accounting firms, “which are very complementary businesses” to the bank, Kearney said.
